366 Days - Lithograph on Sekishu Paper 24x36” on Rives BFK backing.
Occasionally it is essential for any artist, but myself specifically to take the time to do something with exacting intention. Since 2020 my life has been an almost non-stop roller coaster ride of hectic shit-storms and dissapointments. So I made a choice that in my work I would be as slow as I needed to be, if the world won’t give me time to take a breath, to grieve, to experience patience and softness. Then I’d do it for myself one piece of art at a time.
“366 Days” took that many days to produce, at this point with it I have forgotten how many layers, variations, and runs through the press this particular print has been through. The edition is 5, and each is preciously unique as only handmade work can be. I am not a machine, my prints while a grouping do not strive for uniformity. They are each a presentation of my commitment to being gentle and to letting myself work fully through the ink and press.
