Muscular male Torso twisted, without head or legs, showing tension in the body

Torso Twist.is a Stone Lithograph on Bamboo XUAN paper at 24 x 18” in edition of 15 prints. The image represents an exploration of both male form form and material. I was interested in how the male body creates a pillar like structure mimicking trees in their spiral growth patterns. Those same trees weather the worst storms and draughts, bending rather than breaking. However they’re largely disliked by builders and saw mills because they do not dry straight. There in lies my interest. That which does not fit into the straight box must be inherently queer, this image is also one which doesn’t exist for everyone’s consumption. I am not nor ever have been interested in appealing to every single member of an audience. If I am speaking to you, I am glad, if I am not, then listen and learn.
